Samsung smart TVs run Tizen, Samsung’s own operating system. You cannot install Android apps on Tizen, so you use IPTV players published in the Samsung app store (Smart Hub). Availability depends on your TV’s model year and changes over time.
Apps to look for
Search the Samsung app store for an IPTV player. Apps that have been published for Tizen include:
- IPTV Smarters Pro: signs in with Xtream Codes details. See the Smarters guide.
- SET IPTV and Smart One IPTV: you upload your playlist through the developer’s website using your TV’s MAC address.
- Smart IPTV: a long-standing playlist player. Check the developer’s site for current Samsung availability.

How MAC-address activation works
Many smart TV players do not have a login screen. Instead:
- Open the app on the TV. It shows a MAC address or device key.
- On your phone or computer, go to the app developer’s website.
- Enter the MAC address and your M3U playlist link (from your welcome message).
- Restart the app on the TV and your channels appear.
Some of these apps charge a small activation fee after a free period. That is paid to the app developer, not to us. Only use the developer’s official website. Never enter your playlist on a site you were sent by a stranger.
Step-by-step: Samsung with Xtream Codes login
- Press Home and open Apps.
- Search for your chosen player and select Install.
- Open it and choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Enter the server URL, username and password from your welcome message, exactly as written.
- Wait for channels, films and the TV guide to load. The first load can take a minute.
When a streaming stick is better
If your Samsung is more than a few years old, has no suitable app, or feels slow with a large channel list, plug in a Fire TV Stick or a Google TV device. It is inexpensive, has more apps and can move between TVs. Use the TV’s own Wi-Fi or Ethernet tips from the buffering guide for the best picture.
