How long should you subscribe for?
One-screen plans run for 3, 6, 12 or 24 months, and the Family Pack also comes in 36 months. You pay once for the whole period. Plans of 12 months or longer include free bonus months, and the selector shows the per-month figure next to each total, free months included, so you can compare them properly.
A sensible approach is to start with the 1-month £10 trial on the device you actually watch on. When you are happy, a 12-month subscription or longer brings the monthly cost down.
Before you commit to a long plan, test it at the times you usually watch. Busy evenings and weekend sport are when your home broadband is under the most strain.
How many screens do you need?
“Screens” means how many devices can stream at the same time. You can install the apps on as many devices as you like, but only that number can play at once.
- 1 screen suits a single TV or one person.
- 2 screens suits a couple, or a living room plus a bedroom.
- 3 to 5 screens suits a family where several people watch at once.
