What counts as a screen?
A “screen” is one stream playing at once. A TV, a phone and a laptop all count the same. Your plan sets how many can play at the same time. It does not limit how many devices you install the app on.

How many screens does your household need?
| Household | Typical need |
|---|---|
| One person, one TV | 1 screen |
| Couple, living room and bedroom | 2 screens |
| Family with children watching separately | 3 to 5 screens |
| Viewing on phones while someone else uses the TV | Add one for each person who watches at the same time |
Premium UK, 4K Ultra and 8K Ultra Max are one-screen plans. For more, the Family Pack comes with 2, 3, 4 or 5 screens on one account, from £29.99 for 3 months on 2 screens. Choose the number in the plan selector on the plans page.
Broadband for multiple screens
Every simultaneous stream needs its own share of bandwidth. As a guide, allow about 10 Mbps per HD stream and 25 Mbps per 4K stream, plus headroom for everything else on your network. A household watching two 4K streams at once needs a reliable 50 Mbps or more. Wired connections for the main TV make a big difference.
Fixing “maximum connections reached”
If an app says you have reached your connection limit:
- Close the app properly on devices you are not using. Pressing Home often leaves it running.
- Wait a minute or two for the server to release the old session.
- Check that nobody else is using your login. Shared details are the most common cause.
- If it keeps happening, contact support and we can reset active sessions.
More fixes are in playback and login errors.
