Who we are: Matchlight is an IPTV provider, so this is not an independent review site. Rather than publish a self-serving ranking, we give you the checklist we think every UK provider should pass, and we hold ourselves to it.
1. Is the provider licensed for what it shows?
This is the question that matters most, and the one most sellers avoid. IPTV is just a delivery technology. What makes a service legal is whether it holds the rights to its channels.
- A legitimate provider can tell you what it is licensed to show, and does not promise “every channel in the world”.
- An offer of all Sky Sports, TNT Sports and every Premier League match for a few pounds a month is not legitimate. Those rights cost broadcasters billions.
- Unlicensed services are blocked by UK broadband providers and shut down by enforcement action, often without warning.

2. Is the pricing clear and complete?
Look for the total price for the period, the number of screens included and the renewal terms, all shown before you pay. Be cautious of countdown timers, “only 3 left” messages and permanent “70% off” banners. Our own plans are on the plans and pricing page.
3. Does it work on your device?
A good provider supports the devices UK homes actually use and gives setup guides for each:
- Amazon Fire TV Stick, the UK’s most common streaming device
- Samsung and LG smart TVs
- Android TV and Google TV
- Apple TV, phones and tablets and computers
4. Can you test it first?
A trial lets you test on your own TV and broadband at peak times, which no review can do for you. See our trial page.
5. Is there real support and a real company?
- Named company details, a registered address and terms you can read
- More than one way to get help, and stated support hours
- Setup and troubleshooting guides written for the service
If the only contact is an anonymous messaging account, walk away.
6. What happens if it does not work?
Read the refund and cancellation policy before buying. A provider confident in its service will explain when you can get your money back. Ours is in the refund policy.
