The short answer
You cannot install third-party IPTV player apps on Sky Glass or Sky Stream. They run Sky’s Entertainment OS, and only apps Sky has approved, such as the main UK catch-up and streaming apps, can be installed. There is no option to sideload, no APK installer and no Downloader app.
The workaround is simple: plug a streaming stick or box into one of Sky Glass’s HDMI ports and switch input.

Why people search for “Sky Glass IPTV”
- Sky Glass is itself IPTV. It streams Sky’s channels over your broadband instead of using a satellite dish, so “IPTV on Sky Glass” often just means Sky’s own service.
- People want their own player app on the TV, as they would on a Fire TV Stick or Android TV. That is the part Sky does not allow.
- “Downloader codes” and “APK” guides circulate online, but they are written for Android devices and do not work on Sky’s software.
How to watch your subscription on Sky Glass
- Buy a Fire TV Stick 4K or Google TV device.
- Plug it into a HDMI port on the Sky Glass and connect its power adapter.
- Switch to that HDMI input from the Sky Glass menu.
- Install your player and sign in. Follow how to install IPTV on a Firestick.
Sky Glass’s speakers handle the sound, and you keep Sky’s own service on the main input.

A note on Sky Stream
Sky Stream (the small “puck” that turns any TV into a Sky TV) uses the same software and has the same restriction. Plug your stick into the TV, not into the Sky Stream puck, and switch inputs on the TV.
Beware of “Sky Glass IPTV APK” sites
Websites offering Sky Glass APKs or activation codes are, at best, out of date. At worst they spread malware or push illegal streams. Our guide to free IPTV and its risks explains what to watch for.
