How MAG boxes work
MAG boxes, made by Infomir, are built only for IPTV. Instead of signing in to an app, the box connects to a portal. Your provider links the portal to your box’s MAC address, so no username or password is needed on the box itself.
To use a MAG box you need:
- the box’s MAC address, from the sticker on its base, beginning 00:1A:79
- a portal URL from your provider, issued once your MAC address is registered.
MAG portal support: confirm whether MAG portals are offered and how customers register their MAC address.

Setting up the portal
- Connect the box to your TV and router, preferably with Ethernet, and switch it on.
- Open Settings, then System settings.
- Go to Servers, then Portals.
- Enter a name (anything you like) in Portal 1 name, and the URL we send you in Portal 1 URL.
- Save, go back and choose Restart portal. The box reboots and loads your channels.
Menu names vary slightly between models and firmware versions.
Common MAG errors
- “Authentication failed” or “STB blocked”: the MAC address registered with us does not match the box. Check every character and contact support.
- Stuck on “Loading portal”: check the portal URL, including the slash at the end, and your internet connection.
- No TV guide: wait a few minutes after first boot, as the guide downloads in the background.
More fixes are in playback and login errors.

Is a MAG box still worth buying?
If you only watch IPTV and want something simple, a MAG box is reliable. For most homes, an Android TV / Google TV device or Fire TV Stick is more flexible. It runs several player apps plus the usual streaming services.
