What is a Downloader code?
Downloader is a free app by AFTVnews for Fire TV and Android TV. It lets you type a web address and download an app installer. Typing long addresses with a TV remote is slow, so AFTVnews lets anyone register a short numeric code that redirects to a web address. Type the code and Downloader goes to that address.
That convenience is also the risk: anyone can create a code pointing to anything, and the person who made it can change where it points later.

How to use a code safely
- Only use a code from a source you trust, such as the app developer or your provider.
- In Downloader, type the code in the address box and select Go.
- Check where it leads before installing. The page or file name should match the app you expect.
- If anything looks wrong, such as a different app name, pop-ups or a request for payment, stop and go back.

Codes to avoid
Videos and forum posts listing “IPTV Downloader codes” are a common way to spread:
- modified (“modded”) apps containing malware or adverts
- apps pre-loaded with illegal streams, which put you at legal risk
- fake “free IPTV” apps that harvest your details.
If a code comes with promises of free sports or “all channels unlocked”, do not use it. See free IPTV: the risks.
Using a web address instead
You do not have to use a code at all. Type the developer’s official download address into Downloader’s address box. It takes a minute longer but you know exactly what you are installing. The full process is in how to install IPTV on a Firestick.

Remember: codes install apps, not channels
A Downloader code only installs a player app. The app is empty until you sign in with a subscription. Any code that claims to give you channels for free is installing something you should not trust.
